The latest “Wondee,” and first to hit the Upper West Side, Wondee Siam V would like to introduce “Big Mama Nid,” as she is affectionately known to this area. Famous for producing authentic Thai home cooking for many years in her Hell’s Kitchen restaurants, “Mama” aims to tantalize the taste buds of patrons uptown.
To enhance your meal, they have created a calming ambiance and comfortable atmosphere with attentive staff eager to make your meal a complete Thai dining experience. Dine in or take advantage of prompt delivery and experience the number one Thai food on the Upper West Side!
Pak Boong Moo Grob—Crispy pork with morning glory
Lamb Chop Penang—Tender grilled lamb chops in a spicy penang sauce
Khao Ka Moo—Pork leg braised in rich sauce; served with Chinese broccoli and egg
Duck Kra Prow—Crispy duck sautéed with garlic, onion, bell peppers, chili and fresh basil
Thai Basil—Sautéed with Thai fresh basil sauce, garlic, onion, chili and bell pepper
Thai Pork Chop—Grilled marinated tender pork shop served with steamed mixed vegetables and sticky rice
This makes me sad because I used to much prefer Wondee Siam to Thai Kitchen across the street, but no longer. I got food poisoning from the pad thai chicken. The manager was nice about the situation, but I will definitely not be eating here any more. ;(

Some of the worst pad thai ever tasted. My boyfriend ordered the pad thai with tofu, and was actually retching after taking a few bites. Smelled terrible, tasted like it smelled. Green curry was marginally better, but I will certainly never be ordering from here again. Delivery was fine, though- on time, polite, etc.

The food I received was not good and overpriced.

I like the seasoning but didn't like the meat's texture.

This rating is for the pad thai. The last two times I ordered pad thai, it was pretty awful. Some of it was way too salty, some of it was bland; not sauteed evenly at all.

Overpriced with tiny, tiny portions. Not worth it!

We couldn't even eat the food. Chicken was questionable, salad had veggies that were clearly not fresh.

Good quality food. Fast. Affordable. Best lunch specials for Thai food in the neighborhood.

I have tried a bunch of things and well.. its ok. PadThai today though was soggy and disgusting. I had 1 bite and it had to be thrown out. Will never order that but otherwise its normal.

Very good. The Kee Mow Noodles were phenomenal. I thought the Thai Basil Chicken was okay but my boyfriend loved it. It was a little heavier. Rock On Jackson! (The Boyfriend)

pretty good + fast delivery. I got the crispy duck + appetizers samplers and it was very decent.

Disappointing; I ordered a salmon dinner entree and both the fish and the vegetables were so greasy I could barely taste anything but the oil. Yes they are open late, but this truly must be the last resort. My special instructions on preparation of my meal were not followed. Will not reorder.

This place has the best Thai food on the UWS. Their curries are great as well as their Pad Thai. Must recommend the Green Curry! 5 Stars!

Wondee is quick and delicious. Try some of the chef's specials for some interesting new dishes (Ka Na Moo Grob is excellent).

One of the better Thai fares in the area (Morningside Heights), but still not the best. I often get the pineapple fried rice, but it's almost always super greasy. The spicy basil beef is the best item on the menu in my opinion. I always ask for hot sauce on the side ,but somehow they never give it to me haha

Fast delivery, good food, especially the ginger chicken and the pad thai, both are non-greasy and relatively authentic. If you are in the mood for Asian food that is on the lighter side, you won't be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite Thai places on the UWS. The staff is super friendly, and the food is quality. I particularly like the pad thai, though sometimes it can be a bit greasy. However it always hits the spot. The pad see ew is good as well, and the duck salad is good too (sometimes the duck is a bit tough, so eat it as soon as you get it). All in all a great spot, and cute to dine in as well!

Great Pad Thai, very fast and cheap/

Love the duck noodles soup. The broth is rich and it's so comforting to have it on a cold day. Staff has always been helpful and patience with the menu over the phone. I will definitely spread words to people I know about this place.

Great food and quick service!

Unlike their original place on 9th ave in midtown west, Wondee Siam V is no match to its competitor across the street. It's good food, but it's just OK. Nothing that special. The delivery was prompt and the food was fresh though. So it's not too bad a choice after all.

Portion size wasn't great, but the Thai Basil was really good.

My favorite pad thai on the UWS and I have tried them all. The thai salad is also very good...large portion, fresh. Dumplings are delicious too!! The only down side is the delivery usually takes over an hour.

Ordered from restaurant quite often and just recently delivery guy calls ahead to say come down to get food. I explained that I had a injury. They said that they did not feel comfortable delivering to my area, obviously I did not want to order from them ever again. Now they say they will deliverI assume because they don't want to lose the money. When I said no.. the guy was yelling in my ear to pay for it. I did not expect the this type of rudeness on cancelling my order. I get manager finally and he says as well that I should take it up with Seamless Web. The conversation ended with me explaining how misleading it is that they are on Seamless web delivering to my area when they don't "want to" and that it should not be the customers responsibility to know this. I also told the manager that they should at least be polite on phone about the situation. He says he will look into it further but still maintained that he would not help in canceling the charge, when calling Seamless Web they were just as shocked as I was. Misleading and honestly it's probably a good thing cause the food was way over priced for very small portions.

First time ordering, and what a nice surprise. Food arrived piping hot in less than 25 minutes, which is impressive because we are more than 10 blocks away. The duck curry was AMAZING!!!! The duck was served with very fresh fruit (grapes, pineapple) delicately cooked with a delicious curry. And good portion size. Only reason for 4 stars is because the Pad Thai was just average, a little bland and dry. And they charged $2 extra for shrimp, which in most Thai restaurants comes with as a default. I will be ordering from them again very soon! UPDATE March 13 2010-- Removed 1 star because: This time I ordered massaman curry and summer roll. The massaman curry was fine although there was much more "soup" to it than contents (vegetable and beef). The big problem with this order was the summer roll. I assumed for $6 that it was 2 or 3 of the rolls (at other restaurants they are typically $1.50 to $3 per shrimp summer roll / fresh roll) but in fact they delivered 1 summer roll for $6. Rip off.

Uggg. I was a huge fan of Wondee Siam, but I probably will avoid it now. Hubs and I ordered some food for a low key Valentines and both of ended up sick and hovering near the toilet. awesome way to spend Valentines day. ;(

I'm a big fan of this place, but they can be uneven. I just got an avocado salad, and the avocados were so hard, they were actually crunchy. I know this isn't the season for avocados, but please, if you can't get edible produce, take it off the menu for the season!

I don't know if this is the norm, but they gave very small portions for dinner this time.

Fast food. It should cost half of what it does. Too bad..

Love this place. One of the better Thai restaurants in NY. Consistently good, attentive service. Great addition to the neighborhood. The pork yam salad is out of this world! (And puts Thai Market, which is good in it's own right, to shame)

Tasty, reasonably priced food. Decent portion size. Much better value than other Thai in the area (others give tiny portions).

I got the Yam Ped Yang (spicy crispy duck salad) and it was excellent. There was a bit of a mix-up with the delivery--it ended up arriving before I got home because I had ordered it about 45 minutes before I wanted it delivered--but everything worked out fine; the food was hot and DELICIOUS. I'll definitely order from there again.

The food was nothing special, in fact we thought it was bellow average. Delivery person was nice, but the restaurant forgot to send dressing for our salad AND sauce for the dumplings.

not great--a little greasy and the pad thai was mediocre
